So I just saw this link on google video today.. via digg.com. It looks very real, but on the other hand it could be some really crazy video editing ( i beg to differ). What do you think?

Macromedia No More…

Adobe Merges with Marcomedia

So its finally official, as of Dec 5th 2005 Adobe now formally owns Macromedia. Now the whole web development community seems to be in uproar with rumors flying left and right as to what is going to happen to some of the flagship products of Macromedia. I have personally been a fan of Macromedia from way back in the day. My first contact with the company came when a friend told me about Dreamweaver 2, and how the product was cool and very easy to use. At that time i was just getting into web development and the only tools I had at my disposal were notepad and FrontPage.. Suffice to say that was the last time I used any of those products. I do break away once in a while to write some code in notepad tho :0. Its fun to code by hand, but when it comes to tight development schedules and rapid prototyping and development Dreamweaver has always done the trick for me. Which brings me back to the impact of this merger. I am not really sure what is going to happen with a lot of the Macromedia software.. I assume that Flash being a major flagship of the company and being so pervasive now on the net would not be discarded but will be integrated into the Adobe stable. I can’t say much for some of the other Macromedia products like Fireworks, and Freehand which haven’t really made much of an impact in the market. I plan to get together a list of all the products and make a side by side analysis of which ones ( i feel ) are most likely going to stay and which ones probably won’t.

New AIM Triton

So i downloaded the new version of AIM today dubbed AIM Triton. Here is my review of the client so far. I have only been using it for about an hour and i must say im impressed at the changes AOL has made since the last AIM version. AIM is beginning to look and function more like Trillian or GAIM. There are tabbed conversation windows, support for video chat, email and talk. All these are features that you will find in other chat clients and AOL is indeed playing catchup but its still an admirable effort. Bundled with the installation, is aol explorer browser, a standalone version of the browser thats included with the full AOL software. Its very interesting to note that even though this browser is built off Internet Explorer it looks and functions nothing like it. It has support for tabbed browsing which Ineternet Explorer still lacks (well soon in v 7) and a host of other cool features. My favorite feature would be the tab explorer which gives you a screenshot view of currently open tabs and a history panel at the bottom with screenshots of  previously viewed sites. All in all the GUI of the browser looks kind of a cross between Safari & Opera. What is missing tho is better organization for favorites, ability to search other search engines. Well there you have it my quick and dirty review of the New AIM Triton and AOL Explorer. Anyone else used it yet?

Taking a break from objects

Yupp.. my brain is semi fragged from thinking about objects, classes, sql queries and what not.. I love my job all the same, it just gets kinda repetitive after a while…but i like the challenge, looking at a problem and going like… “hrmm… im not sure i will be able to figure this out” But then couple of weeks later looking at ur handiwork as a client marvels at it.. then u sit back and go hrmm guess it wasnt that bad after all. For those of you that dont understand what the heck I am talking about… no worries.. Just think of it as geeky computer stuff. :) heck it says mindless techno babble.. what did u think was going to be in here. Okay.. back to work.. more later

A brain Teaser.. See if you can wrap ur heads around this

3 guys walk into a hotel and ask for a room, they are told by the concierge tells them that there is only 1 room available and its $30 / night. They decide to take it. So each guy pays $10. A little later the concierge realizes he made an error and that the room actually cost $25. He gives the bell hop $5 to give to the guys. On the way to their room the bellhop pockets $2 and gives $1 to each of the 3 guys. So each of the guy ended up paying $9. Now here is where it gets weird 9 * 3 is 27 + $2 the bellhop stole = $29. What happened to the extra dollar?.
